Kayaking Moves

Its spring now, it’s a teaser before summer. Spring gives you the warmth of the sun with the cold breeze of winter. But its the summer that the adventurer in me waits for.

This summer I have made plans to go kayaking. Dress up in my newly bought neoprene boots, waterproof pants, yellow life jacket, Oakley sunglasses and that really cool looking helmet I picked up.

I have even decided on the place where I will make my first kayaking ride. Its a small creek deep in the state on Pennsylvania in West Chester county, the Brandywine Creek. Its small, shallow and twists and turns like a flag in the winds.

This kind of adventure is new to me. I have seen those seasoned paddlers dropped into those nimble, single-seat kayaks that seemed to connect perfectly to their torsos. Those guys make kayaking look to damn simple. I am not sure if we need any special training for this stuff, but i will first give it a trial run.

One thing still bothers me, what to do when my kayak topples? I guess I will just have to find out when it happens. But I am sure it will be fun. Maybe I might take a liking for this and upgrade myself to kayaking in San Francisco bay or under the city lights of Manhattan at night.
